REVELATIONS. Le Israël et le Maroc ont normalisé leurs relations diplomatiques. Ce matin dans le journal Haaretz sous la plume de Yossi Verter, le nom de Ram Ben-Barak, ancien du Mossad, apparait de manière très nette. Il est considéré comme co-initiateur de l’accord Israël-Maroc (avec un homme d’affaires connu d’IsraelValley).
Ben-Barak a servi pendant cinq ans au sein des forces spéciales Sayeret Matkal dans l’armée israélienne. Il a ensuite rejoint le Mossad où il a travaillé pendant 27 ans, notamment en tant que directeur-adjoint de l’agence entre 2009 et 2011. Il a ultérieurement assumé différents postes éminents, notamment celui de directeur-général du ministère des Affaires stratégiques et des Renseignements.
Ram Ben Barak ancien numéro 2 du Mossad a été l’invité de Défense sur i24NEWS : « Il y a de bonnes chances qu’Israël et l’Arabie saoudite entretiennent de très bonnes relations diplomatiques.Selon Times of Israel : « Le député Ram Ben-Barak de la formation Kakhol lavan a déclaré que le parti du Likud lui avait offert le ministère de la Défense ainsi que les rôles de Premier ministre en exercice (en cas d’incapacité du Premier ministre en titre de mener à bien sa mission) et de négociateur en chef avec les Palestiniens, alors que Benjamin Netanyahu tentait frénétiquement de former un gouvernement de coalition. « Il m’a téléphoné et il m’a dit : ‘On parle ici de devenir ministre de la Défense’, », a raconté Ben-Barak lors d’un événement organisé à Kfar Saba, citant un haut-responsable du Likud qui n’a pas été identifié.
LE PLUS. Ram Ben-Barak is a former member of the Israeli security forces and an Israeli politician. He served as deputy Director of the Israeli ‘Mossad’ and the Director General of the Ministry of Intelligence and Strategic Affairs.
Ram was born and raised in Moshav Nahalal in the north of Israel. In 1976 he joined the IDF and served as a combat soldier and as an officer in the “Sayeret Matkal” commando unit. In his last position he served as commander of the Counter-Terrorism Division until his release in 1981 in the rank of Captain.
In 1984 he joined the ‘Mossad’. Ram was a combat and commander of special operational units of the ‘Mossad’. He served as the head of the operational directorate and from 2009 to 2011, he served as deputy head of the ‘Mossad’. Afterwards, he was loaned to the IDF and served as coordinator of special operations between the two organizations.
Mr. Ben Barak was a visiting research fellow at the ‘Saban Center for Middle East Policy’ at the ‘Brookings Institution’ in Washington DC, USA.
On January 15, 2018, he announced his joining the Yesh Atid Party.
Mr. Ram Ben Barak served as President of ‘Fortify Solutions Ltd’ and member of the board of Technologies and Cyber companies.
Since April 2019, Mr. Ram Ben Barak serves as a Member of the Knesset (Blue & White Party).
Ram is happily married to Dr. Ayelet Amishav Ben Barak, and a proud father of three children.
