SPECIAL ISRAELVALLEY. Algaé Ventures, programme d’investissement du groupe Arnault, a décidé d’investir dans Wiz (Israël). Le montant de l’investissement n’a pas été diffusé. Algaé se positionne sur des tours d’amorçage et des séries A menées par des jeunes pousses européennes spécialisées dans les places de marché, les logiciels en Saas, les technologies média ou encore l’intelligence artificielle. La startup Wiz a été fondée très récemment par Assaf Rapaport, ex manager de la R&D de Microsoft Israel.
Wix est une plateforme en ligne qui permet de créer des sites web en HTML5 (l’outil était jusqu’alors en Flash) et leur version mobile. Parmi les concurrents figurent WordPress, Jimdo, Weebly, Silex (libre) et autres hébergeurs et entreprises de création de sites.
Selon le Times : « Bernard Arnault, the chairman and CEO of LMVH Moet Hennessy-Louis Vuitton, and the world’s richest man according to Forbes, has invested in cybersecurity firm, Wiz, the Israeli maker of cloud security solutions for enterprises said in a statement on Thursday.
The startup last week said it closed a Series B funding round with an investment of $120 million from Salesforce Ventures and Blackstone. On Thursday, the firm announced that Arnault’s venture investment arm, Aglaé Ventures, was also part of the latest funding round, alongside US billionaire Howard Schultz, who served 14 years as CEO and chairman of Starbucks.
Arnault is the chair and CEO of LVMH, the world’s largest luxury goods business, and the chair of its holding company, Christian Dior SE.
According to Forbes Real-Time Billionaire’s List, Arnault held the title on Thursday of the world’s richest man, with a fortune estimated at $193 billion.
