Omer Yankelevich a été nommée au poste de ministre de la diaspora. Ce sera la première fois qu’une femme religieuse orthodoxe entrera au gouvernement. Mariée et mère de cinq enfants elle vit à Ramat Beit Shemesh. Omer Yankelevich est une avocate, éducatrice et activiste social israélien. Elle est co-fondatrice de la « Fondation Just Begun », qui parraine des initiatives sociales pour aider à intégrer les populations périphériques et marginalisées en Israël, en mettant l’accent sur le secteur Haredi.

LE PLUS. Omer Yankelevitch was born in 1978, and she grew up in Tel Aviv and later in Bnei Brak. She attended the Rabbi Wolf Women’s Seminary in Bnei Brak, and continued to higher education studies at the Gateshead Seminary, in England, and at Beit Hamore in Tel Aviv. Yankelevitch holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from Ono Academic College (was awarded dean’s list honors) and became a certified lawyer in 2007. She completed a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree at Bar-Ilan University (also with dean’s list honors). In addition, she is a certified mediator.
She served as chief of staff to the director general of the Ministry for Social Equality. From 2006 to 2015, she served as legal assistant to Judge Ram Winograd in the Jerusalem Magistrate and District courts. Yankelevitch founded the Just Begun Foundation for the development and promotion of social projects in Israel’s periphery and even initiated and established a center for Jewish art called Art and Emuna. She served as member of the board of directors and administrative board of the Jerusalem branch of Ono Academic College, as well as member of the national Intellectual Property Committee of the Israel Bar Association.
She was elected to the 21st Knesset on the Blue and White list after her party, Israel Resilience, formed an alliance with Telem and Yesh Atid.
