Justice Minister Yariv Levin ordered the locks changed on a Tel Aviv office long used by the attorney general, effectively barring Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara from the premises on Tuesday morning. Baharav-Miara and her staff were forced to work from an alternative office in the same building.
The office, officially under the jurisdiction of the justice minister, has also served for years as a satellite workspace for attorneys general, including Baharav-Miara’s predecessor Avichai Mandelblit. Levin’s move came amid an ongoing legal and constitutional standoff over the government’s attempt to fire Baharav-Miara – a dismissal frozen pending a High Court ruling.
