Une annonce assez rare en Israël. Bauer Media Group (BMG) a licencié 80 employés de Camylio (Israël). La startup israélienne avait été acquise en 2019 par BMG. Les résultats de Camilyo ont été largement au dessous de ce qui avait été espéré par Bauer. Camilyo avait été fondée par CEO Gil Ilani, Samuel Sattath et Daniel Yaghil.

LE PLUS. BMG est un groupe de médias international d’origine allemande basé à Hambourg, dirigé par Yvonne Bauer, Eckart Bollmann, Jörg Hausendorf et Andreas Schoo. Le groupe édite plus de 600 magazines, 400 services en ligne et 50 stations de radio et de télévision.

Bauer Media Group est le principal éditeur de magazines de presse de télévision en Allemagne (TV Movie, Auf einen Blick, TV Hören und Sehen, TV 14). Il publie les magazines à gros tirage Neue Post, Neue Revue, Tina, Closer et Bravo. Le groupe est également présent dans la presse jeunesse, la presse gastronomique, la presse automobile, etc. Bauer Media Group emploie plus de 11 000 salariés dans 17 pays dont la France au sein de Bauer Media France.

LE PLUS. Germany-based Bauer Media Group is shutting down the activity of Camilyo, the Israeli startup it acquired in 2019, Calcalist has learned. Bauer notified Camilyo’s 80 employees in Israel that it will be closing the local office, resulting in the firing of all the employees.

The sackings will come into effect over the coming months, with Bauer planning to end all local activity within one year.

Founded in 2010, Camilyo provides website building and marketing services for small and medium-sized businesses. Prior to the acquisition, the company had raised a Seed round of an undisclosed amount. As part of the acquisition, Camilyo retained its own branding, management, and team structure.
